Statement: I have created and developed a brush hatching technique using Japanese sumi ink and acrylic. This was inspired by the classic method of disegno established in Florentine school in the Renaissance era. Technically I have enhanced the concept by combining it with the latest neurological studies. The use of Japanese sumi ink which was propagated from ancient China is the key element of my practice to realise my attempt to gather the threads of narrative for bridging East and West.
