Guo Changduo

Guo Chang Duo was born in Shanghai, China. He achieved a BA in Applied Fine Art from Shanghai Xuhui University, China and a MA in Art and Design from Kingston University, UK.

Deeply rooted in the soil of the Orient, Guo grew up surrounded by the philosophy of Confucius and traditional Chinese culture. He find Western art different and diversified, particularly in its paintings which encouraged him to find a way to communicate between East and West. He is seeking common ground between the two cultures and their respective arts and trying to illustrate Chinese themes and subjects relating to ordinary Chinese lifestyles.

Guo has participated in many exhibitions both in China and UK. He was selected as a World’s Chinese Artist in 2000. In 2004, he won a golden award at the Shanghai International Cartoon Competition.
